Los Angeles Clippers
Led by the incredible play of Blake Griffin in Chris Paul's Absence, the Los Angeles Clippers have become one of this years most feared contenders. Chris Paul and Blake Griffin might not have good playoff history, but Doc Rivers is sure to maximize the potential of this young team. In conclusion, things are looking up in Lob City.
Houston Rockets:Dark horse contender
The Rocket Franchise is finally living up to what the fans thought they would be at the beginning of this season. After a rocky start, the rockets have rocketed their way up the standings of the loaded Western Conference. Unluckily its not defense that has gotten them there. Superior offensive efforts from Dwight Howard and James Harden are the only thing keeping this team in the playoffs. Also, the rockets are not a deep team. If they were to lose chandler Parsons, James Harden, or Dwight Howard, this team would immediately lose all hopes of a title. Because of the rockets lack of depth, they are a dark horse contender.
Golden state warriors
The warriors are no longer the underdogs they were last year. Extreme depth and exceptional defensive effort have made the Warriors NBA "To-beat" team. Andre Igoudala has lived up to his potential, David Lee has proven to be a great sidekick to Stephen Curry, and Andrew Bogut is finally healthy. It doesn't even matter that the warriors have been average on offense, because, at the end of the day,its defense that wins championships. For the first time in many years, things are finally looking up in San Fransisco.
